What is ORVSD?

The Oregon Virtual School District is a program led by the Oregon Department of Education that, in cooperation with a consortium of virtual learning providers throughout the state, seeks to increase access and availability of online learning and teaching resources to the people of Oregon. OSU is providing hosting and development resources through a partnership with the OSU Open Source Lab and the OSU Business Solutions Group.

New ORVSD web site sneak preview

I am proud to announce that we have nearly finished the new Oregon Virtual School District web site.

We are adding new resources and links to the site daily. Links to all of the ORVSD educator tools are available on the site: the new ePortfolio system, the course content library, automated Moodle course creation, the podcasting service. More features and content are coming soon.

Advancing Oregon Mathematics

Tabula Digita, creator of the New York City Department of Education Summer 2007 Multiplayer Educational Game (MEG) Tournament, is introducing a special project concept to Oregon Education involving the application of 3D, immersive educational videogames in what would be the first statewide mathematics competition (on Pre-Algebra and Algebra) of its type.
