NACOL publishes online learning primer

Last week, the North American Council for Online Learning (NACOL) published a guide for online learning:  http://www.nacol.org/docs/national_report.pdf

IMO the guide provides a pretty good description of the nuts and bolts of online learning, and I think that it provides a good introductory explanation for those who are new to the concept (yes, they're still out there!).

Anyone care to share their evaluation of the report?

Ed Tech Research

Happy New Year!

In doing some research for a project on which I am working, I came across two excellent resources that I'd like to share.

One is a fascinating research review conducted for Cisco Systems by the Metiri Group's Cheryl Lemke, on the topic of the effectiveness of the use of educational technology: http://www.cisco.com/web/strategy/docs/education/TechnologyinSchoolsReport.pdf

The second resource is an online course evaluation protocol from Michigan Virtual University: http://standards.mivu.org/index.tml
